Sunrise…The Son rose!

This morning I had the pleasure of watching the sunrise in the mountains and I was immediately amazed. I started praising and thanking God for this opportunity and just started fellowshipping with Him. Then as you can see, this blog is happening. As I watched the sunrise; conversion from sin was brought to my mind. Just as beautiful as the sunrise was, that’s how beautiful conversion from sin is! Out here in the mountains before the sun came up, it was pitch black; I mean you couldn’t see ANYTHING! That’s how living in sin, in darkness is.

You can’t see anything. You can’t see the mess you’re in until God shines the light and then you can see the beautiful [mess]age you are!

Then as I sat there watching the sun creep up into the sky God said, “That’s how the conversion happens in your life. You get a little bit at a time and then bam!” When you get saved, you begin to see things differently and slowly the change begins to be recognizable and then bam! I can see clearly now, the sin is gone…I’m alive, alive, alive in Christ!

As I sat up and watched the sunrise, I had the book of Psalm playing in my ear and I got to Psalm 104 and verse 20 says:: “Thou makest darkness and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.” And I remembered how dark it is out here at night and it was scary!!! Darkness, for humans, is scary. That’s because we were and are not designed to operate in darkness, but in light. The light of Christ! Doesn’t the song say “the freaks come out at night?” Do you know what is freak is??? And no, not somebody who be doing something strange for a piece of change (or for free, cuz they got them out here too). defines freak as a thing of occurrence that is markedly unusual or irregular, an abnormally formed organism, especially one regarded as a curiosity, a sudden capricious turn of mind; a whim; a drug user or addict, an eccentric or nonconformist person, especially a member of a counterculture, an enthusiast, and something or someone highly unusual or irregular. God didn’t make you to be a freak but he made you wonderfully and fearfully!!!! (Psalm 139:14)

Here’s the thing that gets me. In your darkest skies you have the brightest starts. Why!? Because God is trying to give you a sign. He’s tryna show you that you don’t have to live in darkness. Let alone, complete darkness! Ha! Hallelujah! God is SO good!!!! The stars are saying, “see, there is light in this world”. If you follow the North Star which is the brightest star, it will bring you home, however; where is the North Star located!?!?  In the sky! God is trying to say, follow me…I am home! Oh em gee!!! This Dude never cease to amaze me. He’s constantly revealing. CONSTANTLY! You either have sunset or sunrise. You will never see it any other way because darkness and light CANNOT fellowship together (2 Cor 6:14). You won’t see the sun shining at night, oh, but just like the stars, there is the moon. However, it’s still dark. Why!? Because we need the SON!!! We need Jesus to see the light!! Because Jesus IS the Light!

1 John 1:5: “This is the message we have heard form him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all.”

I believe there is beauty in ANY sunrise you see; whether it is out here in the mountains, at the beach, or outside your window or home wherever you live because there is beauty in conversion from sin and that can take place ANYwhere you may be! God is not limited to a church building. You can accept Him and begin to live for Him in your house, at the strip club, the crack alley, or someone else’s bed as it was for me. However; you MUST find you a Bible based church home to fellowship and grow because you WILL need to be fed. Not that you can’t do it on your own, but that is the way God made it to be. Afterall, He knows what He is doing.

I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.”
(Psalm 122)

However, we must not forget that it is not about the church as a building, but the church as a people.

So I challenge you to wake up a little bit early, before the sun rises, and read Psalm 104 before you watch the sunrise and just take it all in. God did that! Isn’t that amazing!?!?!! But not only that, remember that::

The SON ROSE for you and for me!
1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Praise Jesus!
