PIMP down, PIMP in distress!!

Yooooo!!! So this morning after indulging in an awesome text conversation, I was brushing my teeth and the phrase “Let the Lord use you” came to mind and I thought, “Hmmm, why do people say that?”, and the Lord was like, “Well, you have to be a willing vessel for Me to use you so that’s why people say ‘let the Lord use you'”; in that moment is when I had an “Ahhaa” moment. Obviously right? I’m here writing…being a willing vessel!

Anywho! So after that little conversation, I began to examine myself and the Lord revealed to me that I was lacking in my pimping. Bruh! Can a sister be great!? Geeze.. I know, I know, you’re like, “This girl is a pimp?! WHAAAT!!?!” Yes, I am and guess what?! YOU CAN BE TOO!!!! First, I will disclose what is a PIMP and then explain how you can be one. It’s actually kind of fun! 😉

What is a pimp? A “PIMP” is:
P- Purposeful
I- Intentional
M- Motivational
P- Perspective

Now, how can you too be a PIMP??

  1. P- Purposeful. The start of being a PIMP is being purposeful, but get this:: in everything. Before doing anything, ask “What is the purpose? Am I walking in purpose and living on purpose by doing so?” If the answer is “yes”, then by all means, do it! However, if you have to think about some things or you’re not so sure the answer is a full “yes”, I would suggest you hold off or just not do it at all. Let us not forget the “Love Chapter”, 1 Corinthians 13. There is no point in doing something if you are not doing it out of love and purpose! Don’t believe me??
    • John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      • Breakdown: God LOVED the world that He gave His Son. The PURPOSE of giving His Son was so whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. So you see that Jesus came out of love and for a purpose, what makes you think your life and actions should be different??
  2. I- Intentional. Secondly, you must be intentional. You can say that intentional and purposeful can be one in the same, but for me, they are a wittle bit different; however they do tend to work hand and hand. I look more at the root of the word: “intention”. Merriam-Webster defines intention as “the thing that you plan to do or achieve: an aim or purpose, a determination to act in a certain way, (my favorite) purpose with respect to marriage.” (Small nugget: Don’t date a person who has no intentions. This means that you are not even a part of the plan! Reread the definition!) So as a PIMP, being intentional means each and every day you have a plan and some order in your life. “Write the vision and make it plain“..”The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord” and then you have to purposely be intentional!
    • Transparent moment: Remember how I shared with you that I have been lacking in my PIMPing? Well, beginning in the month of July, I was like, “I gotta get my act together”, so I started to complete to-do lists for the day and week. Well, needless to say, that lasted for up to 3 weeks. My PIMP game has started to dwindle. I had great intentions, but I wasn’t intentional about those intentions. Is there something you can think of that you have great intentions on doing, yet you are still not doing it??? GET and BE INTENTIONAL!!! <— That’s for me too.
  3. M- Motivational. Third thing in being a PIMP is motivating others as well as yourself. Your life, your actions, and your words should be a motivation. As a PIMP, people should look at you and/or be in your presence and be/feel inspired. Can I be honest here? I’d like to think that I am pretty good at motivating others, and could probably be and do better in that area, however, my self-motivation ain’t on “fleek” (people still say that?) like I would personally like it to be and another transparent moment is that I suck so much in it, that its hard to motivate myself to motivate myself! **Insert hair pulling and screaming emoji here**  BUT! I am working on it! I am becoming a PIMP all over again! Okay, enough of that! Here’s the example:
    • Jesus! Best example EVER!! Super PIMPed out! So bam, His life, TOTALLY motivational! I mean, who wouldn’t want to be the person others come to because you got what they need?! Jesus was the Hookup man! Who wouldn’t want to be around the Hookup man!?  (Blog plug >I got the Hookup<) But not only that, He motivated people! Gosh! So many people! The lame man at the pool who been there for 38 years, “Rise, take up your bed and walk” (John 5:8), the lepers, “Go, show yourselves to the priest” (Luke 17:14), the woman at the well, “Go and sin no more” (John 8:11), the woman with the issue of blood, “Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction” (Mark 5:34), to the disciples and also to us, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen” (Matt 28:19-20). That’s all motivational there! When you call a person to be a better version of them! That’s true leadership too! Telling a man who can’t walk to walk. Telling a sinner woman that she has the power to not sin anymore. Telling us that we have the ability to go forth and spread the gospel and that He is with us! What!? Awesome sauce!! Are you not motivated/ing?!
  4. P- Perspective. Last but not least, being a PIMP means you have to have an exceptional point of view. This will set you a part from others. You have to be able to see things and see ways that others cannot. You have to be the odd man out. Answer me this: Naturally, do pimps fit in? Do they think like the majority?? Nah. They don’t. But I have another example:
    • Moses, who was also a PIMP, sent out 12 spies to go peep out a land and they did (Numbers 13). However, the majority of them must not of read this blog because their PIMP game was not strong, BUT luckily, two of them did! Out of 12 men, only two of them had a different perspective. The majority was like, “Your PIMPness, the land is good how we thought it would be, buuuuuut uh, them people strong, their cities huge, man, they even have giants there!”, but the real PIMP spy stood up and was like, “Linda, listen, listen. Now don’t get me wrong, I saw what they say, but I’m saying tho, let’s go, right now, and take over! We got this!!!!” (Excuse the way I animate, but you should get my drift). The people who God told were overcomers saw themselves as grasshoppers. They had a very stupid perspective and sometimes we fall in that category, but not anymore!!!

And now, to conclude this PIMP Session:

You may have slipped, and you may have fell, but you can and prayerfully after reading this blog, you WILL get up!!! Now it’s time to get our PIMP game strong and go forth and be great!! So get your PIMP hands ready and prepared to be used for work and prayer and now say it with me::

I don’t what you heard about me, but I’m a God-fearing P-I-M-P!!!
