Maaaaannn!!! Now I may be telling my age here, but y’all remember saying that back in the gap right before you have a dance contest.?! They had hand movements to go to it and everything!!!! Memories, I tell ya.. Some are still good to have. Anywho!! I guess God is calling me out to dance. No really, God is calling me out. He made His move, shook some things up and now it is my turn…oh Jesus! Help Lord!!
Okay, so this month in church we are focusing on Faith. What is faith? The people of faith. And we are being challenged to “walk by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). Normally I don’t blog about things like this, so this must be meaningful and needed not only for myself, but for you as well.
I wrote a blog previously called “Stepping out on faith:: Walk or Sink” (you can go read it here). I’m mentioning it because the Lord led me to read the blog again yesterday and I remembered why I was called to the place I am now and why God calls us out of familiar places and places us in a “foreign land” so to say. >Say it with me:: That’s Faith!< Every other Wednesday at my church we have PULSE, which is our youth ministry, and I have been blessed to be one of the leaders and I speak just about every Wednesday. Now this past Wednesday was the first Wed since like, idk, September/October, I was actually comfortable speaking. It was weird, yet rewarding all at the same time. Well, this particular night, can you guess what we spoke on?? Yep! Faith, that’s right!! And at the end, I challenged everyone to find a verse personal to them to stand on and declare, decree, and confess that thing of faith, through faith, and with faith unto God! Now this is what brings me here. I prayed on what my verse would be and …well, ima just post it here…
“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My Name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will not by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.’ So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into Heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” Mark 16:15-20, NKJV
Bruh! Talk about that drove!! No, really! I was looking for something more, Psalms 37 or Proverbs 2, you know, something along those lines; but how many of you know His thoughts are not our thoughts?! Neither are His ways our ways?!? (That’s in Isaiah if you wanted a reference) So pow!! The Lord has OFFICIALLY called me out! Those verses in Mark chapter 16 are called “The Great Commission”. WHAT!?! Let me break this down for you. The word “great” is defined “of an extent, amount, or intensity considerably ABOVE the normal or average”, “of ability, quality, or eminence considerably ABOVE the normal or average”, and/or “denoting the element of something that is the MOST IMPORTANT or the MOST WORTHY of consideration” and the word “commission” means “an instruction, command, or DUTY given to a person or group of people.” Do you not see the call out!? This verse is for all of us as believers, but this verse is specifically for me and God wants me to do my dance man!
So you mean to tell me God is instructing, commanding, and giving me a duty to do ABOVE the normal or average that is most important and most worthy of consideration!? Yep!! That is exactly what He is doing. God is calling me out to consider (which really means DO) going into ALL the world, not just some or the ones I’m familiar with or the ones I want to go to or think I need to go to (Can’t be like Jonah), and preach the gospel (His Word) to EVERY creature, saved, unsaved, dogs, cats, Free Willy, ABOVE the normal or average! Who was ready for this!? Not she!! But you want to know the greatest and most comforting thing of it all, is that when the disciples went out and preached (in other words, when they followed orders and obeyed), the Lord was working with them and confirming His words through them by the accompanying signs He said would happen. That’s great right?!
The Lord calls you out and when you go to do your thing, He doesn’t leave you out to dance on your own, but He dances with you!!!
This Guy! Such a gentleman!!! 🙂
Well, now its your turn! I am calling you out! Yep! I challenge you to get before the Lord and seek what it is you need to be standing on and doing and when He tells you (cuz He will!); I NEED YOU TO DO IT!!! (Checkout my blog Checkmate which speaks about just doing it). Then, if you don’t mind, come back here and share it with the people! I know I, for one, would love to hear about God speaking and moving in your life, so please…don’t be shy! I will be looking forward to rejoicing with you!!!!
