Okay, now don’t ask me about my titles because I still have yet to answer myself on that. Anywho!
So I know I’ve mentioned before how I have great convos and things with God when I’m in the shower cuz it makes me feel closer to Him, going back to the Garden of Eden and all that jazz (I think it was in “Kiss my Awesome, Sweet Self”..check it out if you haven’t already!) So yeah. Here I am, taking a shower, singing, talking, and now you might think I’m weird with this one, but for some odd reason I like seeing my dirt from the day going down the drain (dontjudgeme) and I compare it to the day I had, whether it was long, short, hard, easy, whatever! Well, tonight it hit me! How would the “dirt” look if we seen our sins being washed away!?
“Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they be red like crimson, the shall be as wool” Isaiah 1:18
“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sins…If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:7;9
Like how would the bottom of the tub look on your day of salvation!? All I could do was say, “My God!” I can really only imagine! He cleanses us from ALL iniquities! So my bath time from lets just say from like 9yrs old to 24 was pretty dirty! I mean, some days I’m sure were cleaner than others, but most days….yeah! I probably was in the bath tub for a mighty long time! Probably contributed to some of the Mississippi River water! But that just humbled me so much and made me THAT much more grateful! God is a GOOD God! He loves us sooooo much that He says, “No matter what you did (insert name here), I’m willing and ready to look past all of that and give you this good ole bath and clean you from head to toe and forget about it!” Man! You cannot TELL me that ain’t love!!!! That’s that unconditional, Agape love. I so love Him! Eek! **blushed**
I love getting revelations like this because that’s how we humans can relate. God is so mighty and powerful that in order for us to really get Him, He has to bring things to a certain level of understanding. Not saying that God thinks we’re dumb or anything, but the way we think is not the way He thinks. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” Isaiah 55:8,9. Plus, I’m a visual person. Like, I know the scripture, I got the gist of it all, but actually seeing the dirt go down the drain and to hear Him say, “Imagine if that were your sins.” MAN! Talk about an eye opener! That immediately made me more alert and want to monitor more of what I do, what I say, how I act, and what I think about it. I want my water to STAY clean! I don’t want him to find NO spot in me. I want to present myself as a “glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that [I] should be holy and without blemish” Ephesians 5:27.
These are the things that we Christians have to get. Regardless of how He reveals things to you, take heed to them. You should be living your life that at the end of each day, you don’t have to worry about how scarlet your bath water will be. Each day, each second is an opportunity to get it together and start fresh. God is everywhere at all times! He never sleeps nor slumber (Psalm 124:3,4). It does not take a Sunday morning, Tues, Wed, or Thurs night at an alter call to give your life and submit to Christ. The Bible says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed” Romans 10:9-11. **Disclaimer** That is only the beginning people, there are STILL other things to be done, but that is the start of salvation and your new life. Just like the dirt has washed away from the day and your ready for a new day, so are you: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW creature, old things are past away; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (Emphasis added). You wouldn’t want to keep getting in the same bathe water from previous days, so why get into the same sins after you get saved!? Hmph..Riddle me that! (He got me on that one, I ain’t gon lie! Smh)
As you cleanse your body, note that God has the ability to cleanse your soul. If you’re tired of the same “dirt” and you feel like each day your water is not getting any cleaner, try being bathe in the water Jesus offered the woman at the well. I guarantee it is life changing!
I’m praying for you. Pray that this has been a blessing.
